  • As a volunteer at my local football team for the last 25 years I am very proud to have been involved in various initiatives such as “Kick it Out”  established as a campaign with the brand name ‘Let’s Kick Racism Out of Football’ in the 1990’s  and more recently for the last couple of years, Altrincham have led the way in inclusion and diversity,  they were the first ever football team to swap their usual red and white home kit for a rainbow-coloured strip based on the LGBT pride flag. The kit celebrated Football v Homophobia month and demonstrated the club’s solidarity with the LGBT community.  More information.

Nick Speakman

Ollerton with Marthall

I grew up in North-Cheshire and have lived in Marthall since 2006. I became a Parish Councillor in 2018 because I care deeply about my local area and community.

I am committed to protecting natural habitats, supporting local food producers and protecting Cheshire from the potential urbanisation that constant attacks on the Green Belt create.

The owner of solar electric and heat systems, an air source heat pump, battery storage and an EV, I’ve spent the last decade proselytising about “green technologies”, writing regular articles in parish magazines about their benefits, to anyone daft enough to listen to me.

I’m a keen rambler, cyclist and sailor, if I’m not whizzing around the lanes of Cheshire on a bike, I’m up a hill with my dog or racing a J80 on Windermere.

I’m also a Parish Councillor for the much smaller neighbouring parish of Little Warford.
